I’ve always tried to donate my time and artistic ability to rescues in need. Over the years I’ve done quite a few for English Springer Rescue America, a rescue dear to my heart. My time has been limited the last several years but I managed to create these very special offerings in 2022 for a fundraising auction. The cookie jar sold for $600!! It was an amazing experience and I hope to have more time to devote to helping rescues of all types!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
This beautiful girl is Persephone Dawn. I wanted to share her on Valentine’s Day because her reference photos came with the most heartwarming story of love and loss. I fall in love with my clients. It’s as simple as that.
Sometimes people contact me to do a portrait of a pet that has passed away, some are gifts for others, sometimes they are just a gift to themselves. All of my clients have a special relationship with these cherished pets and I love hearing about them when they contact me. I’ve been told that I capture their souls. I hope that’s true because they have certainly captured mine. By the time I finish even the smallest paintings, I am in love.
I hope my clients don’t mind the hug they receive on delivery, even if it’s just virtual. Love was meant to be shared!

Nora
As an artist, sometimes there are subjects that just speak to your heart more than others. Such is the case with Nora.
Nora was one of 100 Brittanies rescued last July from a breeder who could no longer care for them. She was HW+ and terrified of people. Her foster family decided to adopt her and she was slowly coming around. The unthinkable happened in January when she slipped her leash while vacationing in Florida. I heard about her story at this point and every day held my breath waiting to hear of her being found. Well, after a month of searching, and against all odds, she was found! I painted this, from my heart, in honor of Nora and as a gift for her wonderful family that never gave up on her. Nora, 4″x4″, acrylic on Gessobord.
